• Conduct thorough intake assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning using tools such as GAIN and LOCUS.
• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships by offering state-of-the-art counseling services tailored to meet individual client needs.
• Effectively intervene in crisis situations, providing immediate support and facilitating diversion strategies as necessary.
• Serve as an advocate by linking clients to additional resources, including psychiatrists for medication evaluation, and assisting with case management.

• Participate in ongoing training and seminars to further develop skills and knowledge relevant to emerging trends in mental health care.
• Collaborate with family members and multidisciplinary teams to monitor clients’ behavioral changes and treatment responses.
• Support junior therapists and interns through supervision and guidance, fostering their professional development.
• Contribute to after-hours on-call services in conjunction with other program team members, ensuring access to care.

Your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor will involve working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals facing mental health challenges, substance abuse issues, and various psychosocial stressors. To effectively engage this population, you'll be expected to approach each client with cultural sensitivity, adapting your methods to suit their diverse backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, and life experiences.

• Active and valid licensure in the District of Columbia as LPC, LMFT, or LICSW.
• A Master’s Degree in a human services-related field is required.

• Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) for accurate documentation and client tracking.
• Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and thrive under stress.
