• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to develop individualized treatment plans addressing their specific psychological needs.
• Provide both individual and group counseling sessions specifically designed to help seniors navigate emotional struggles related to aging, loss, and significant life changes.
• Facilitate educational workshops for staff, families, and caregivers on best practices to support the emotional health and overall quality of life of seniors.
• Offer grief and loss counseling, assisting clients and their families through the emotional challenges associated with end-of-life issues.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions to improve client outcomes and enhance recovery.
• Account for all sessions using electronic health record (EHR) systems, maintaining patient confidentiality while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

This role specifically focuses on elderly clients, many of whom may be experiencing complex emotional issues tied to significant life transitions such as retirement, loss of loved ones, or adapting to aging-related health challenges. Understanding the unique perspectives and experiences of this demographic is crucial for providing effective counseling services.

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.
• Completed a full-time clinical internship within a recognized mental health setting.
• Eligibility for licensure in New York State as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication skills complemented by the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients quickly.
• A strong, empathetic listening ability coupled with adept guidance skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational capabilities.

• Prior experience working with elderly populations, particularly in mental health or counseling settings.
• Familiarity with addressing issues related to addiction counseling could be advantageous.
• Knowledge of supportive therapeutic techniques tailored to life transitions.

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, with a potential sign-on bonus for the right candidate. Our compensation package is designed to reflect the importance of this role and the expertise you bring to our team.
