This role is designed to be carried out in a remote setting, enabling you to work from the comfort of your home while still contributing to our integrated services aimed at supporting patients undergoing detoxification. Despite the remote nature of this role, you will remain closely connected with a multidisciplinary team via regular virtual meetings and collaborative platforms. • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients’ mental health status using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and other validated tools.
• Create and manage individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations, ensuring that plans reflect cultural diversity and the specific needs of our patient population.
• Provide supportive therapeutic interventions, employing strategies that promote mental and emotional well-being, while continuously monitoring and adjusting treatment in response to patient progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to patient treatment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers to establish comprehensive treatment objectives tailored to achieving desired outcomes.
• Offer education and mentoring opportunities to interns, students, and volunteers, fostering a culture of learning within the team.
• Support new team members through peer reviews and clinical collaboration to facilitate their professional growth.

The ideal candidate will work predominantly with patients coping with cancer diagnoses. This specialized focus requires a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological distress that can accompany such diagnoses and the ability to adapt treatment approaches accordingly. By addressing individual and family needs, you will play a critical role in enhancing the overall wellness and resilience of patients during challenging times.

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic practices relevant to mental health care.

• Previous experience in an outpatient setting, particularly working with patients experiencing chronic illnesses such as cancer.
• Familiarity with digital health tools and electronic health record systems.
• Experience mentoring or supervising emerging professionals in the field of social work.
