Job description

INTERNSHIP FORMAT  

This internship will follow an in-person model. Interns will be based at one of the Stellantis manufacturing plants located in Metro-Detroit, MI, Kokomo, Indiana or Auburn Hills, MI. Relocation assistance may be available for candidates who meet specific eligibility criteria. The internship program is scheduled to run from May through August 2027.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS  

The Stellantis Material Logistics Management (MLM) team is comprised of valuable individuals determined to deliver excellence with pride. We have a clear vision for success: “to provide service to our customers by delivering the right part, in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantity, and with quality.” As a team, we persevere through challenges to provide winning results in our business. 

The MLM Intern is responsible for working with teams of hourly, bargaining employees in completing material receiving and delivery activities that enable the plant to meet daily production targets. This role directly supports daily production. The MLM Intern will troubleshoot problems as they arise and allocate resources and manpower accordingly to resolve issues without impact to plant throughput performance.  

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics or a Manufacturing-related program at an accredited college or university (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) from an accredited college or university 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications. 
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the internship. 
  • Willingness to relocate for internship. 
  • Completion of freshman year or higher at an accredited college or university by the Spring 2027. 
  • Must be willing and able to work in a plant environment 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team  
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels and with external partners  
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment  
  • Proven leadership in academic pursuits, extracurricular activities, or service organizations
