Internship Summary
Juniper Communities is seeking a Connections Director SkillBridge Intern to assist in leading the design and execution of vibrant engagement programs within a hospitality retirement community. This is a unique leadership opportunity that blends hospitality, event coordination, wellness programming, and personalized resident care.
As a Connections Director Intern, you will gain hands-on experience planning and implementing recreational, educational, cultural, and wellness-based activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of residents. You'll work closely with staff, volunteers, families, and residents to ensure that programs align with individual needs and community goals.
Responsibilities
  • Help plan, organize, and implement holistic daily programming for residents.
  • Support and supervise Connections team members and train staff in activity implementation.
  • Organize monthly calendars, newsletters, and "brag books" highlighting resident activities.
  • Assist in coordinating events, volunteer involvement, and interdepartmental programs.
  • Communicate regularly with residents and families to ensure engagement and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and wellness standards, including infection control.
  • Contribute to the resident move-in process by ensuring social and emotional readiness.
  • Support budget development and manage inventory for program-related supplies.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty and assist with community-wide initiatives as needed.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's in Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Activity Professional preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Experience in healthcare, education, recreation, or service-related industries preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Compensation Range:
If hired after the internship the target compensation range is $58K - $67K. This compensation can vary depending on experience level, certifications, and other factors.
