Position Summary
The Internship Coordinator will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and tracking on- and off-campus internships through the Career & Professional Development Center.
Date of first consideration: 05/01/2026.
Essential Functions
  • Increase on- and off-campus internships as well as remote internship opportunities by developing relationships with on-campus faculty/staff and working closely with the Assistant Director for Employer Relations to develop employer relationships in the community, regionally, and nationally.
  • Provide one-on-one internship coaching for students.
  • Develop an expert understanding of internship policies/procedures at SUU as well as federal/state internship laws/regulations to ensure that both on-campus partners and employers are in compliance with such.
  • Convene and support a regular faculty advisory committee on internships acting as the resident expert to answer questions and provide support as a resource.
  • Meet regularly with Internship Coordinators in each academic department to develop relationships and offer ongoing support.
  • Prepare and present internship presentations to classes and student organizations.
  • Oversee the implementation of the new on-campus Professional Internship Program and SUU Career Academy ensuring the growth and development of these programs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 Year / Associate degree.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience developing and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new computer applications quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team to support departmental goals and operations.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and entities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience developing and/or managing internships.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of current internship federal/state laws.
