Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, financial modeling tools, and common banking software is often expected. Interns may also shadow professionals from departments like retail banking, corporate finance, or risk management to gain a holistic understanding of banking operations. The work environment is often collaborative, with interns participating in team meetings and sometimes contributing to cross-functional projects. This exposure helps interns build practical skills and gain insights into the day-to-day workings of the banking sector.
