What Does Steel Dynamics Do?

Steel Dynamics is a leading industrial metals solutions company that produces lower-carbon, high-quality steel products primarily from recycled scrap. Operating through a circular manufacturing model, the company manufactures a wide range of steel products including flat roll, structural, and long products for industries such as construction, automotive, energy, and manufacturing. Internship Location

This internship is located at Steel of West Virginia, located in Huntington, WV. This internship is an ONSITE, IN-PERSON Internship.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize electrical engineering principles to assist in the performance of engineering duties.
  • Assist other engineers in on-going projects.
  • Perform data analysis and report trends to operation personnel.
  • Be in direct contact with operation personnel working on projects that will directly affect production and safety.
  • Participate in day to day engineering activities in a fast paced and varied environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. Degree program or experience should include one or more of the following: electrical machinery, power distribution, PLCs/automation systems, power electronics/drives.
  • Completed at least their freshman year of study.
  • Preferred GPA of at least 2.7.
