Job description

We are looking for a talented and passionate Clinical Psychologist to join our Diagnostic Services team and help advance our mission of helping as many families as possible with individualized supports through a combination of home, telehealth and community-based treatment.

The Job
This position conducts psychological assessments for individuals of all ages who may be at risk for autism spectrum disorder, other emotional, behavioral, or learning disorders, and/or developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role also involves providing individual, family, couples, and/or group psychotherapy services primarily to individuals with neurodevelopmental and related disorders as well as their family members. This position includes active involvement in conducting evaluations with clients and diagnostic report preparation. This role also serves as support for other diagnostic staff members, including providing direct supervision and oversight of practicum students, interns, and post-doctoral residents.
Essential Duties
Provide diagnostic services:
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults who have concerns for neurodevelopmental, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
  • Develop written diagnostic reports with all necessary information for individuals & families to qualify for service delivery systems (e.g., Arizona Medicaid or DDD).
  • Supervise students' (e.g., post-doctoral residents, interns, and/or practicum students), and any unlicensed staffs' administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological assessments.

Provide therapeutic services (as assigned):
  • Provide individual, family, and/or couples therapy to individuals with social, emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental challenges, pending staff interest and availability.
  • Co-lead mental health groups, support groups, and/or social skills groups, per caseload assignments.
  • Supervise students (e.g., post-doctoral residents, interns, and/or practicum students) and any unlicensed staff's therapeutic activities.

Assist in program expansion efforts:
  • Work with director on continuing to build and refine a formal training program for post-doctoral residents as well as interns and practicum students.
  • Serve as a supplementary supervisor for all staff members, post-doctoral residents, interns, and/or practicum students.
  • Provide regular input and feedback to the director regarding program improvement needs, quality control measures, and strengths and weaknesses within the department.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of team members.
  • Assist in the development/revision/expansion of social skills groups, support groups, and mental health groups for individuals with developmental disabilities and their family members in partnership with other clinical teams (i.e., speech therapy, ABA therapy, Clinical Family Coaching, Family Support Services, etc.).

Help advance the organization's overall mission and impact models:
  • Collaborate with other departments on mutual clients and provide insight from the perspective of a clinical psychologist.
  • Participate in advocacy activities to further improve access to quality diagnostic evaluations and mental health therapy.
  • Periodically provide in-service training and/or educational opportunities to other staff members, families we serve, and the community.

Candidate Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience administering psychological tests, preparing reports, and rigorously documenting within client records
  • Experience evaluating and/or treating individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities
  • Experience and knowledge of diagnostic assessment tests and methodologies
  • Experience with therapeutic modalities that can be utilized with individuals with neurodevelopmental and related disorders
  • Eligible for licensure as a psychologist in the state of Arizona
  • Successfully pass a background check and other related hiring requirements
