Job description

What You'll Do:

  • In accordance with training and scope of practice, administers and interprets psychometric tests as requested as part of treatment needs for specific diagnoses, treatment and psychological individual and group interventions
  • Administers, scores and interprets individual psychological tests or test batteries for purposes of crisis intervention, neuropsychological issues, risk assessment, severe behavioral management cases, treatment, and programming
  • Participates in hearings as assigned and assessments for potential suicide
  • As a member of the interdisciplinary team, responsible for development and implementation of mental health interventions (e.g., psychological, social and substance abuse) for a caseload of offenders/patients with mental illness
  • Conducts individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan using clinical intervention strategies within their scope of practice.
  • Provides mental health liaison services to an assigned caseload, including the monitoring of the offender compliance with the mental health treatment plan
  • Completes detailed screens, mental health evaluations and crisis services within their scope of practice
  • Serves as treatment team coordinator
  • Acts as lead worker over lower-level psychological services staff and provides clinical supervision only to psychology assistants and interns in accordance with the State Board of Psychology rules within the level of training and competency of these psychology assistants and interns.
  • Writes reports and/or documents to include documentation of all offender contacts, mental health liaison progress note entries, discharge plans and miscellaneous forms and reports as needed.
  • Completes psychosocial needs and treatment assessments as part of interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Completes transfer and discharge summaries and pre-parole clinical risk assessments and treatment summaries
  • Consults with other institution staff regarding the mental health caseload, inmate institutional adjustment and service needs.
  • Participates in peer review as assigned.
  • Attends meetings of psychology clinical case consultation
  • Attends and instructs in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
  • Conducts expert-witness assessments as needed
  • Attends meetings
  • Conducts various institution and program audit functions

Starting pay is approximately $90,000 based on location.
DRC is a “qualifying employer” for purposes of the federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness program.

License to practice psychology as issued by Ohio State Board of Psychology per Section 4732.12 or 4732.15 (A) of Ohio Revised Code.
