Job description

Direct Counsel is seeking a Practice Development Manager – Litigation to join a highly respected Am Law firm.

Location: Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; or Nashville, TN
Position Type: Business Development / Marketing Professional
Experience Level: 8+ years

Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading international law firm to identify a Practice Development Manager to support its Litigation Section. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic marketing and business development professional to work closely with attorneys and firm leadership to drive growth initiatives, client development, and market positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business development and marketing plans for the Litigation practice
  • Collaborate with practice leaders to identify growth opportunities and strategic initiatives
  • Lead responses to RFPs, pitches, and new business opportunities
  • Develop marketing collateral, practice descriptions, case lists, and website content
  • Manage practice marketing budgets and track business development efforts
  • Coordinate directory submissions and rankings initiatives
  • Support cross-selling opportunities across practice groups and offices
  • Work with PR and communications teams to promote client successes and attorney visibility
  • Organize events, sponsorships, seminars, and client-facing initiatives
  • Maintain CRM and engagement databases in collaboration with internal teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years of business development or marketing experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
  • Strategic mindset with strong attention to detail and client service orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience supporting litigation or dispute resolution practices is a plus

Compensation:

  • Illinois salary range: $126,000 – $190,000
  • Massachusetts salary range: $138,000 – $207,000
  • Bonus eligible with a comprehensive benefits package
