Job description

Environment Illinois is hiring an intern to work with our outreach and marketing team. As an intern, you'll gain experience and make a difference on important environmental issues like reducing plastic pollution, promoting clean energy, protecting open spaces and more.
As a marketing intern with Environment Illinois, you'll help us educate and engage Illinoisans on the important issues we're working on. By leveraging social media, communicating with our members, or organizing high-visibility educational campaigns you'll be helping build awareness and the public support it takes to win.
  • You'll plan and execute social media strategies that inform and activate the public.
  • You'll create engaging educational content for our website.
  • You'll learn how to craft messages for environmental campaigns in ways that attract attention and inspire involvement.
  • You'll work side-by-side with Emily Kowalski, Environment Illinois Outreach & Engagement Manager, learning the ropes of how to organize and advocate for environmental solutions.
  • You'll attend briefings and trainings to learn even more about environmental issues and gain organizing skills.
We're looking for people who are passionate about the environment and are ready to make a difference now. Familiarity with graphic design and video editing is a plus, but not a requirement. An internship with Environment America is one of the best ways to gain experience for a career in environmental advocacy. 
Location: We are hiring interns in Chicago, IL.
Timeline: We hire interns for the fall, spring, and summer. Please indicate on your application which time you are applying for. We accept internship applications on a rolling basis.
