Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day PLC automation engineering support for Formulation, Filling, Packaging, Utilities, and related manufacturing operations.
  • Create control system layouts; integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, actuators, instrumentation, and automation components.
  • Write, debug, test, and maintain PLC code (including Ladder Logic); troubleshoot PLC-based systems and automation faults.
  • Administer/maintain automation platforms (Allen-Bradley PLC, Siemens SIMATIC WinCC, Siemens PLC S7, Intellution/Proficy iFix SCADA).
  • Develop control system strategies; draft/update/verify system specifications, SOPs, training materials, and automation documentation.
  • Support control system lifecycle in a regulated environment (including change control).
  • Train users; lead/mentor automation engineers/technicians as needed.
  • Plan/execute automation projects (including schedules, estimates, business cases) and coordinate cross-functionally; investigate support issues and recommend improvements.
  • Provide off-hours on-call automation support for 24/7 operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 7+ years PLC automation/controls experience in GMP or similar regulated environment.
  • Experience with automation instrumentation/field devices.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and Intellution/iFix SCADA.
  • Strong troubleshooting, engineering judgment, communication, and ability to lead/train with minimal guidance.
Preferred:
  • cGxP manufacturing knowledge;
  • pharma production equipment knowledge;
  • DeltaV experience;
  • creativity/innovation.
Benefits (as stated):
  • Base salary range: $89,900–$141,240; eligible for incentives and medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, disability/life, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, holidays, and well-being benefits.
  • Up to 80 hours sick time/year; new hires up to 120 hours paid vacation.
