What is an internship in online drafting?

An Internship in Online Drafting is a temporary position where students or recent graduates gain hands-on experience in creating digital drafts and technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other drafting tools. Interns typically assist professional drafters, architects, or engineers with projects such as blueprints, schematics, and 3D models. This role helps interns develop practical skills, build a professional portfolio, and learn industry standards in a real-world setting. Internships may be fully remote, allowing participants to work from anywhere while collaborating online with their teams.

As an Online Drafting Intern, you will typically assist with creating and revising digital drawings, technical schematics, or architectural plans under the supervision of experienced drafters or engineers. Common projects include updating existing CAD files, preparing layouts for construction or manufacturing, and helping with documentation for client presentations. You'll often collaborate remotely with team members, learning to communicate effectively through digital platforms and adhering to project deadlines.
