About Grove United

Grove United is a nonprofit soccer organization based in Richmond, Virginia, committed to developing players, coaches, and leaders while creating opportunities on and off the field. Through our youth academy, pre-professional teams, community initiatives, and international partnerships, we strive to make a lasting impact within our community and the game of soccer.

Our internship program is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and leadership development. Interns work alongside experienced staff on projects that contribute to the continued growth of Grove United while developing valuable skills for future careers in the sports industry.


Position Summary

Grove United is seeking a motivated and organized Operations Intern to assist with the day-to-day operations of the club. This internship is ideal for high school seniors, college students, or recent graduates interested in sports management, business administration, nonprofit leadership, event management, or organizational operations. The Operations Intern will work closely with Grove United leadership to support club operations, event planning, administrative projects, and organizational initiatives throughout the season.


Internship Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of Grove United.
  • Support matchday, tournament, camp, and special event operations.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, meetings, and club events.
  • Assist with scheduling, calendars, and organizational planning.
  • Help maintain Google Workspace documents, databases, and operational records.
  • Support communication with players, families, coaches, staff, volunteers, and partners.
  • Assist with registration, equipment management, and inventory.
  • Work alongside the Marketing, Sponsorship, and Community Engagement departments on club initiatives.
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings and contribute ideas to improve club operations.
  • Complete special projects assigned by Grove United leadership.


Qualifications

  • High school senior, college student, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Business, Event Management, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to support occasional evenings and weekends during matches, tournaments, camps, and special club events.
