Job Title:ย NOC & Automation Managerย 

Department:ย Technical Operationsย /ย NOCย 

Reports to: VP of Managed Services

Job Type: Full-timeย 

Position Summaryย 

The NOC & Automation Manager leads the Network Operations Center and owns the monitoring, RMM, backup oversight, and automation capabilities that support Managed Services. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for improving operational reliability, reducing manual effort, and building scalable, proactive processes across the managed services environment.ย 

Roles and Responsibilitiesย 

NOC Operations & Leadershipย 

  • Lead day-to-day NOC operations, priorities, escalation paths, and team development.ย 

  • Ensure alerts andย monitoredย events are appropriately prioritized, investigated, escalated, and resolved.ย 

  • Drive the NOC toward proactive identification and prevention of client-impacting conditions.ย 

  • Participate in major technical incidents and coordinate effectively with Service Desk, Engineering, Security, and other teams.ย 

Monitoring & RMM Platform Ownershipย 

  • Own the health, configuration, standardization, and continued improvement of RMM and monitoring platforms.ย 

  • Maintain consistent monitoring coverage andย optimizeย thresholds, policies, and workflows to reduce alert noise.ย 

  • Provide oversight of backup monitoring and recurring infrastructure issues, ensuringย timelyย remediation and escalation.ย 

  • Track NOC performance,ย monitoringย effectiveness, platform health, and recurring operational trends.ย 

Automation & Continuous Improvementย 

  • Lead the Managed Services automation strategy andย identifyย high-value opportunities toย eliminateย repetitive or error-prone work.ย 

  • Design, develop, test, document, andย maintainย automation using scripting, APIs, workflow platforms, and native tool capabilities.ย 

  • Establish standards for automation testing, change control, ownership, documentation, and lifecycle management.ย 

  • Measure automation outcomes through reduced manual effort, improved consistency, faster resolution, and increased service capacity.ย 

Platforms, Standards & Collaborationย 

  • Integrate operational platforms,ย improve dataย consistencyย and billing reconciliationย across PSA, RMM, monitoring, documentation, backup, and related systems.ย 

  • Maintain SOPs, runbooks, technical standards, and documentation that support repeatable operations and knowledge sharing.ย 

  • Partner with reporting and analytics resources to develop meaningful operational metrics and dashboards.ย 

  • Communicate risks, recurring trends, improvement opportunities, and platform needs to Managed Services leadership.ย 

  • Serve as a technical escalation resource and coach NOC and automation team membersย 

Qualificationsย 

Required Skills & Experience:ย 

  • Demonstrated experience in an MSP, NOC, infrastructure, or managed services environment.ย 

  • Strong experience with RMM, monitoring, backup, and operational management platforms.ย 

  • Hands-on scripting and automation experience, preferably PowerShell, REST APIs, and workflow automation.ย 

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint management, and modern infrastructure operations.ย 

  • Ability to lead technical resources, improve processes, document standards, and coordinate across teams.ย 

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.ย 

Preferred Experienceย / Certifications:ย 

  • Experience with ConnectWise Manage,ย NinjaOne,ย Rewst,ย Acronis,ย Power Automate, or comparable platforms.ย 

  • Microsoft or other relevant infrastructure, automation, identity, or cloud certifications.ย 

  • Previousย team leadership, technical leadership, or mentoring experience.ย ย 

Work Schedule:ย Full-time (40 hoursย per week), Monday to Friday with participation in on-callย supervisorย rotation or extended shift coverage asย needed.ย 

Compensation:ย  $120,000ย - $130,000 per year,ย commensurateย with experience. Comprehensiveย benefits package included. Cybersecurity training/certificationย support.ย
