The St. Luke's Registered Nurse Internship programs prepare Registered Nurses to excel in their respective fields through education, experience and empowerment. Nurse interns at St. Luke's develop the clinical competence and personal confidence required to bring positive patient outcomes with every encounter.
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
(Availability varies per campus needs)
Ideal candidates for application to the St. Luke's Registered Nurse Internship Program are:
  • Nursing Students with prospective Spring/Summer/Winter graduation dates who will be eligible to sit for NCLEX and obtain licensure before start of Internship
  • Experienced RN's with less than 1 year of experience in the specialty they are applying to.

  • Acute Care - Currently available to interview
  • Critical Care- not currently available. Nursing student must have a minimum 3.2 overall GPA at time of application or confirmed Senior Practicum in an ICU at time of application.
  • Emergency Department- Currently available to interview. Nursing student must have a minimum 3.2 overall GPA at time of application or confirmed Senior Practicum in an Emergency Department at time of application or experience working in an Emergency Department/ prehospital care (EMS)
  • Perioperative, On-call requirements- not currently available

OVERVIEW:
What St. Luke's Critical Care RN Internship/Fellowship Offers:
  • The Length of the internship/fellowship program is Full Time competency-based and is tailored to each individual adult learner.

Our RN Internship Programs are conducted at various sites within the St. Luke's University Health Network and are supervised by our Internship Coordinators. Upon successful completion of the RN Internship Program, the intern will work on the aligning St. Luke's unit where he/she will practice caring for patients across their lifespans.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides nursing care to critically ill patients through the nursing process, assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, evaluates and documents the effects of care.
  • Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
  • Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Maintain current BLS certification.
MINIMUM - MAXIMUM COMPENSATION PAY RANGE:
Registered Nurse: $40.60 - $55.68

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on state requirements.

EDUCATION:
Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania or New Jersey (Warren Campus).
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 10 hours per day; 8 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 75 lbs. Transports patients weighing up to 500 lbs. via wheelchair, bed and/or stretcher. Frequently stoop and bend. Frequently reach above should level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation and high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision.

$39.80 - $54.06
