Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Multimedia Communication Student Worker - Institutional Student Worker on the Dahlonega campus. The Multimedia Communications Student Worker will support the University of North Georgia's Dahlonega campus by filming and photographing student-focused events. This role provides hands-on experience with live event coverage, post-production workflows, and collaborative media projects. Designed for students pursuing degrees in film, digital media, communication, or journalism, the internship allows interns to apply classroom concepts in a real-world setting while developing skills in visual storytelling, camera operation, and media documentation.
Responsibilities
  • Capture high-quality photos and video footage of student events and activities.
  • Film and photograph in live, unscripted environments using DSLR cameras.
  • Provide media support at large-scale and high-profile campus events.
  • Perform light editing of footage for archival or promotional use.
  • Organize and deliver media content following department workflows.
  • Work alongside SC&M team for large events

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of DSLR cameras and basic media equipment.
  • Understanding of composition, framing, lighting, and movement in photo/video.
  • Willingness to accept feedback and learn new technical and creative skills.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, and strong verbal communication.
  • Collaborative mindset with flexibility to support different roles on the media team.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve in live event situations, and meet deadlines.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in the minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
