Job description

Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is currently recruiting a Licensed Social Worker for their secure adult inpatient psychiatric unit.


Capital District Psychiatric Center provides inpatient psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation to individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illnesses. Our philosophy of care fosters positive outcomes and encourages individuals to develop independence.


Licensed Social Workers will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate care and individualized support services to adults including:

  • Providing individual psychotherapy to adults.
  • Facilitating up to 4 weekly clinical group programs.
  • Developing clinical group curriculum to meet Joint Commission and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services programming requirements.
  • Completing required paperwork including intake, core history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Providing case management services.
  • Coordinating and facilitating discharge planning with Social Work Team.
  • Providing verbal de-escalation and participating in interventions.
  • Assisting in training and orientation of new staff and/or interns.

Minimum Qualifications:


Licensed Master Social Worker- Licensed and currently registered as a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker- Licensed and currently registered as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York.
