Job description

Description:
  • Program duration is flexible based on student's availability and project workload
  • The program will include time working in the office and on project sites.
  • A mentor, senior engineer in the intern's field of study, will be assigned as a resource for the intern, in addition to the Regional Technical Director.
  • The Regional Technical Director will identify specific areas of training (i.e. pipe design, circuiting, lighting layouts) and review the skills and knowledge necessary to complete such tasks. The intern will then receive design work tasks to implement the learned skills.
  • The intern will be assigned tasks to assist senior engineers/designers, construction representatives, or commissioning agents.
  • Assigned tasks will incorporate a combination of drafting, design and fieldwork as appropriate to their skill and experience level.
  • During the course of a typical week, the intern will spend approximately 30 hours of work performing design-related tasks as assigned and approximately 10 hours per week working/attending job meetings, site surveys and construction site visits.
  • The majority of the internship will be focused on the intern's specific field of interest with the remaining portions of time allocated to the other fields supported by the firm.

* This role can be based out of our York, Philadelphia, State College, Pittsburgh, or Raleigh, NC office. *


Requirements:
  • Current student in a trade, technical school, or university with a mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering focus.
  • Understanding of math and science as well as understanding of their technical specialty
  • CADD/BIM and/or REVIT experience preferred
  • Intermediate level working with most current Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint including Office365
