Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical intern to support our freight and logistics team with freight claims analysis. This role will focus on evaluating freight damage trends, identifying root causes, and contributing to process improvements that reduce transportation-related losses. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with real operational data and influence meaningful changes across our supply chain. 
 
 
 
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
  •  Compile and organize freight claims data from internal systems and carrier reports
  •  Analyze damage trends by mode, carrier, product type, lane, and packaging method
  •  Identify root causes of freight damage and quantify financial impact
  •  Develop actionable insights and recommendations to reduce damage
  •  Assist in evaluating and improving packaging standards and handling practices
  •  Collaborate with internal teams (operations, warehouse, customer care) to gather supporting data and feedback
  •  Support the development of a carrier scorecard focused on claims performance, including KPIs such as frequency, severity, and resolution time
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the internship
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in a college program (preferably junior or senior level)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Proven detail attentiveness, organizational, analytical, and time management skills
  • Positive can-do attitude towards professional endeavors
  • High level of professionalism and be able to work cooperatively with staff, internal, and external customers
  • Ability to manage confidential information

Job Specifics
  •  The position is in-office. Remote work is not available. No more than twenty-eight (28) hours may be worked per week during the semester and up to forty (40) during the summer.
