Job description

Road Logistics Summer Internship
It's more than a job
With us, you will get to know the diverse world of logistics. Whether it's delivering equipment for our favorite sport or transporting sensitive components for the smartphones we use every day - you make an important contribution to life's small and big moments. Your work at Kuehne+Nagel has more impact than you can imagine.
Ever wonder how products move reliably from manufacturers and distribution centers to retailers, healthcare facilities, and end customers across the U.S.? As a Road Logistics Summer Intern, you'll explore how domestic transportation networks operate behind the scenes at Kuehne+Nagel, one of the world's leading global logistics providers.
This immersive internship program runs 10 to 16 weeks, depending on your academic schedule, and provides hands on exposure to the dynamic world of road transportation and domestic freight solutions. Internship experiences vary by location and training program, allowing interns to gain exposure to different aspects of Road Logistics such as operations and customer solutions.
You'll learn directly from experienced professionals, collaborate with fellow interns across the country, and gain real world experience using transportation management systems, analytics tools, and logistics technologies that support U.S. supply chains. Along the way, you'll participate in networking events, executive speaker sessions, and structured learning activities designed to help you grow both professionally and personally.
How you create impact
  • Integrate into a team within one of our major business units - Road Logistics
  • Participate in a location specific training program focused on areas such as:
    • Road transportation operations and execution
    • Customer success and account support
    • Project based logistics solutions (e.g., healthcare, final mile, or specialized transport)
    • Data, systems, or logistics technology support
  • Learn Kuehne+Nagel systems, processes, and terminology used in day to day domestic operations
  • Assist with operational, analytical, or administrative activities related to road freight and transportation services
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in internship program activities, including guest speakers, intern events, and regular check ins
  • Track your learning progress through structured program resources and feedback
  • Develop and deliver a final internship presentation highlighting your experience, learning outcomes, and key takeaways

What we would like you to bring
• Bachelors in supply chain, logistics, business, transportation, information systems, computer science, or a related field; also open to rising seniors in college
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (additional technical or analytical skills are a plus)
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team based environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast paced setting
• Curiosity, motivation, and a desire to learn about domestic logistics and transportation
What's in it for you
At Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. We offer a dynamic global work environment with opportunities for excellent training programs and career mobility. The hourly wage range for this position is between $15 - $20 per hour, depending on location. Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data. #LI-KE1
Kuehne+Nagel participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Employers can only use E-Verify once you have accepted a job offer and completed the Form I-9.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used to assist in specific processes [e.g. screening applications, interview scheduling]. These tools analyze information to support decision-making, but final decisions are made by human reviewers.
Who we are
Logistics shapes everyday life - from the goods we consume to the healthcare we rely on. At Kuehne+Nagel, your work goes beyond logistics; it enables both ordinary and special moments in the lives of people around the world.
As a global leader with a strong heritage and a vision to move the world forward, we offer a safe, stable environment where your career can make a real difference. Whether we help deliver life-saving medicines, develop sustainable transportation solutions or support our local communities, your career will contribute to more than you can imagine.
