We are looking for a Firmware Developer who is passionate about hardware, embedded systems, and connected products. This person will play a key role in developing firmware for our smart cameras and will contribute to a variety of technical projects involving new component integration, system optimization, and the evolution of our existing platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the hardware, understands the deep interactions between firmware, processors/microcontrollers, sensors, and communication modules, and wants to have a direct impact on the customer experience.

Your responsibilities:

Embedded platform architecture

  • Contribute to defining the architecture of embedded platforms, including the structure of low‑level layers, drivers, and system services.
  • Design interfaces between firmware, hardware, and software modules (AI, imaging pipeline, networking, security).
  • Participate in architecture reviews and help ensure technical alignment across teams.
  • Document embedded system architecture (diagrams, models, technical specifications).
  • Assess the integration of new SoCs, sensors, or modules and their impact on the existing architecture.
  • Contribute to communities of practice and knowledge sharing within the physical product teams.

Firmware development & integration

  • Develop and integrate code into existing platforms as well as new embedded architectures.
  • Adapt, optimize, and integrate libraries across various environments.
  • Support the integration of new components.
  • Contribute to firmware evolution to support new features or services.

Hardware validation

  • Work directly with prototypes and cameras in the lab.
  • Debug, instrument, and measure the performance of critical features.
  • Perform code integration on final hardware, validate behavior, and adjust based on real‑world observations.

Optimization & Product Experience

  • Collaborate with product managers and architects to evaluate technical feasibility and constraints for new customer experiences.
  • Optimize performance.
  • Work closely with internal teams (hardware, software, AI, product) to deliver robust and cohesive solutions.
Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of experience in firmware development.
  • Excellent proficiency in the C language in embedded environments.
  • Strong expertise in embedded development under Linux (kernel space).
  • Familiarity with Yocto or a customized Linux distribution (image creation, library integration, BSP adaptation).
  • Solid experience in low‑level development: drivers, protocols, memory management, RTC, GPIO, I2C/SPI/UART.
  • Deep understanding of microcontrollers, embedded processors, and system‑on‑chip architectures.
  • Experience with image sensors or capture systems (an asset).
  • Comfortable working on existing platforms and integrating code into complex codebases.

Desired profile:

  • Ability to work autonomously on a project while collaborating effectively with the team.
  • Curiosity, rigor, and a strong ability to dive deep into technical problems.
  • Comfortable working in concept, exploration, and rapid‑iteration phases with real hardware.
  • Solution‑oriented, with a strong understanding of how firmware impacts the overall user experience.
