Develops modern and responsive single-page web applications using Typescript stack such as Angular and Angular 17+. Integrates with REST APIs to access and retrieve data using NodeJS/NestJS based frameworks. Builds GraphQL APIs and writes clean, maintainable code using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. Writes automated tests such as Jest and Cyprus as part of development. Articulates a plan for and implements changes on a production system while adding new features toward team initiatives. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.
  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing web application development and integrating RESTful APIs to build scalable web experiences serving financial investments domains, using Angular.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing web application development and integrating RESTful APIs to build scalable web experiences serving financial investments domains, using Angular.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing software solutions, using User Interface (UI) development tech stack--Angular, GraphQL, Java, and JavaScript; implementing State Management patterns and frameworks using NgRx/RxJS; and orchestrating Node.js layers and deployment, using KAD, AWS S3, and ECS.
  • DE designing and developing Customer Profiling, Investment Planning, and feature flag management customized web application features using Bootstrap, Launch Darkly, and APEX; and creating responsive designs for desktop, tablet, and mobile users.
  • DE designing, developing, and integrating Java Web services using Dropwizard, Spring Boot, and Spring Security according to Service Oriented and micro-services architecture; authenticating applications using oAuth and Spring MVC frameworks; and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for Web services using Jenkins and GitHub.
  • DE supporting the full web application development lifecycle -- analysis, design, development, test, and deployment -- using Source Control version tools (Git and Stash) and build tools (Maven and Jenkins) according to Agile methodologies.
