Job description

We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Software Engineer to join a highly innovative deep-tech environment, working on complex engineering challenges at the intersection of software and AI

This is a hands‑on, customer-facing role where you will work across the full stack to understand customer problems, rapidly prototype solutions, and build production‑ready applications that deliver real value.

The Role

You will:

  • Work directly with customers to understand their engineering challenges and shape impactful software solutions.

  • Build rapid prototypes, gather user feedback, and iterate toward production‑ready applications.

  • Develop and maintain REST APIs and microservices using Python and FastAPI.

  • Work with data scientists and machine learning engineers to bring advanced physics models into customer‑facing applications.

  • Deploy and operate applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, AWS.

  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, designers, and platform teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

  • Identify reusable components and contribute improvements to the core platform.

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience delivering applications to production.

  • Strong experience with Python, backend development, REST APIs, and microservices.

  • Experience with FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.

  • Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.

  • Experience working with AWS

  • Ability to take ownership of complex problems and drive solutions end‑to‑end.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments.

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.

Nice to Have
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, or another engineering discipline.

  • Experience with scientific computing, machine learning, simulation, or physics‑based applications.

  • Experience in a customer‑facing, solutions engineering, consulting, or forward‑deployed role.

Working Conditions
  • Full‑time, 40h/week

  • 1099 Contract initially

  • PTO provided
