Role Overview: : Workplace Design Lead, Corporate Real Estate

Richmond, VA |Inoffice, Monday-Friday

The Workplace Design Lead, Corporate Real Estate is responsible for leading workplace design initiatives across corporate real estate projects from initial programming and space planning through construction, furniture installation, and occupancy. This role requires a highly experienced professional with 7+ years of expertise in interior design, construction coordination, and workplace furniture systems who can translate business needs into functional, high-performing, and aesthetically compelling environments. The ideal candidate combines strong design sensibility with technical knowledge, project management discipline, and a deep understanding of delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The position is fully office-based with travel as needed to support active projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test fits for proposed locations either independently or by managing external architectural and design consultants
  • Oversee the preparation and review of construction drawings, including incremental progress sets.
  • Develop and manage furniture plans, layouts, and selections in alignment with overall design objectives.
  • Lead effort with local furniture dealers in finalizing selection, finishes and preparing quotations for approval and order.
  • Develop signage package for all new/relocated office locations, coordinate with signage vendor for proposal, fabrication and installation to align with project schedule.
  • Provide regular reporting on project status, risks, and financial performance. Maintain full ownership of project budgets, including tracking tenant improvement (TI) allowances and overall project financials
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders, including AV/IT, Security, Facilities, and other business units, to ensure seamless project execution
  • Ensure projects are delivered fully complete and ready for occupancy

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Architecture, Interior Design, or related field preferred) from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in corporate design and construction project management
  • A track recordof commitment to prior employers
  • Proven track record of independently leading projects from concept through completion with full accountability for outcomes, including schedule and budget
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong communication, project leadership, and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • AutoCAD and Revu Bluebeam experience preferred

Work Environment & Travel

  • This is a 100% in-office role; remote work is not available
  • Travel required as needed to support project management, site visits, and progress reviews
  • Required Travel: minimum 20%

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
Base Compensation: 111,000.00 - 149,000.00 USD Annual
