Join Collins Aerospace & the Mission Systems organization as an Electrical Engineer I. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid , with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

  • Support PCB design activities by assisting with requirements review, basic schematic capture, and coordination with layout engineers.
  • Help design, test, and troubleshoot analog/digital electronic hardware under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Work collaboratively with power, digital, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to contribute to hardware development tasks.
  • Learn and follow AS9100 quality compliance efforts by following established processes and documentation standards.
  • Communicate technical information clearly through written documentation, presentations, and team discussions.
  • Stay organized, ask questions, and actively manage assigned tasks to support project goals.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Foundational understanding of electrical circuit concepts (e.g., Ohm's law, common components, basic circuits).
  • Introductory knowledge of digital electronics such as microcontrollers, programmable logic, or simple embedded systems.
  • Exposure to any schematic or PCB design tool through coursework, personal projects, or internships (e.g., Siemens Xpedition/Mentor Graphics or similar ECAD tools).
  • Familiarity with common lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
  • Interest in learning how system requirements flow into hardware specifications and test plans.
  • Coursework or project experience involving PCB design, embedded systems, or electronics testing.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn new tools and hardware design techniques.
