SUMMARY:   

The Long Island Nets Seasonal Internship is a part-time, paid program that runs from October 14th, 2026 to May 13th, 2027. Start and end dates can be flexible depending on your academic calendar.  

Seasonal Interns are expected to work about 20-40 hours per week with some days expected to be in office and other days remote. Each intern will be assigned to a specific department in which they will remain or rotate for the duration of the program. All internships with the Long Island Nets will require flexibility to work games and events, including evenings, weekends and holidays. 

Program hours for this internship will take place at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY with occasional hours worked at our headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Business Operations Intern  

Summary: The Business Operations Intern supports the Long Island Nets day-to-day business, administration, and gameday functions. This role provides hands-on experience across sports business operations while collaborating with teams throughout the organization to support key goals and initiatives. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will support gameday and event logistics, budget and expense tracking, administrative projects, and the preparation of reports, presentations, and dashboards. You'll also assist with Kids Zone operations and serve as a liaison between the business staff and Basketball Operations. 

WHO YOU ARE: You are an organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual with an interest in sports business and operations. You're a collaborative and dependable teammate who is comfortable working across departments, managing multiple priorities, and contributing in both office and gameday environments. 

Communications Intern 

Summary: The Public Relations Intern supports team communications, media relations, and gameday PR operations throughout the Long Island Nets season. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside the Communications Coordinator at games, practices, and media availabilities. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will support gameday PR activations, lead media credential creation and distribution, and assist with basketball communications and media availability. You'll also attend games and practices while helping ensure communications operations are handled efficiently and professionally. 

WHO YOU ARE: You are a professional, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with an interest in public relations, sports communications, and media relations. You exercise discretion when handling sensitive information and are prepared to work collaboratively in the fast-paced environment of games and practices.  

Game Presentation Intern 

Summary: The Game Presentation Intern supports the planning and execution of Long Island Nets home games, theme nights, and special events to help create engaging fan experiences. This role provides hands-on experience across live sports production, entertainment programming, and gameday operations. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will support gameday execution by stage managing, coordinating performers and entertainment talent, managing props and promotional inventory, and assisting with sponsored activations and fan engagement initiatives. You'll also contribute to event logistics, run-of-show preparation, scheduling, and creative ideas for theme nights and entertainment programming. 

WHO YOU ARE: You are a creative, organized, and adaptable individual with a passion for live sports, entertainment, and creating memorable fan experiences. You're a collaborative and dependable teammate who thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited to contribute both creatively and operationally on game days. 

Marketing Intern 

Summary: The Marketing Intern supports the development and execution of engaging content and marketing initiatives across social media, email, digital, print, and in-arena channels. This role provides hands-on experience in content creation, campaign execution, and marketing performance analysis. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will capture and edit event highlights, create social media recaps, support email marketing, and assist with campaigns across multiple channels. You'll also track audience engagement, campaign performance, and industry trends to identify opportunities and help strengthen future marketing efforts. 

WHO YOU ARE: You are a creative, detail-oriented individual with experience in videography, camera operation, and content editing. You are passionate about sports marketing and digital content. You're eager to combine your creative and analytical skills to produce engaging content and help drive impactful marketing campaigns. 

Partnerships & Community Relations Intern 

Summary: The Partnerships and Community Relations Intern supports partnership development, activation, and community engagement initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in sports partnerships, business development, social impact, and relationship building with corporate partners and community organizations. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will research prospective partners, develop briefs and recap materials, track partnership performance, and support partner events and game night activations. You'll also assist with community programming, ticket distribution, team and player engagement, and relationship building with organizations that align with the Long Island Nets' community pillars. 

WHO YOU ARE: You are a proactive, organized, and relationship-oriented individual with an interest in sports partnerships, business development, and community impact. You're a strong researcher and collaborator who is excited to connect with partners and community organizations while contributing to meaningful initiatives on and off the court. 

Ticket Sales Intern 

Summary: The Ticket Sales and Service Intern supports sales initiatives, season ticket member benefits, and gameday fan experiences. This role provides hands-on experience in ticket sales, business development, customer engagement, and ticketing operations. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will research and prospect new business, conduct outreach to prospective clients, and support the planning and execution of season ticket member benefits. You'll also maintain sales and ticketing information in Ticketmaster Archtics and Salesforce while assisting with fan engagement and on-court experiences on game days. 

WHO YOU ARE: You are an outgoing, motivated, and relationship-oriented individual with an interest in sales, customer service, and the business of sports. You're comfortable engaging with prospective clients and fans, managing details, and contributing to memorable gameday experiences in a fast-paced environment. 

COMPENSATION 

Our seasonal internship program compensation is $18 per hour. Interns are expected to work between 20-40 hours per week. 

Requirements:  

• This program is designed for college seniors, students engaged in graduate studies, or recent graduates. 
• All interns must be authorized to work in the US for any employer. 
• All roles will require onsite work. You will be required to work hours at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in addition to occasional hours at our headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn,  
• All roles will require flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays, to fulfill primary role objectives.
