What You Will Do:

Senior Consultants help our healthcare clients transform their business processes, improve efficiency and operations, increase transparency and performance management, and comply with Federal laws and regulations. As a Senior Consultant, you will have responsibility for client management, solution implementation, and delivery of project results. You will own project workstreams and interact with healthcare clients and Guidehouse leaders regularly to ensure engagement success. Your role includes supporting day-to-day operational tasks for clients and consulting leaders including analysis, research, and project management tasks. Senior Consultants are expected to prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to client and internal executives. You will lead, coach, and mentor Consultants and ensure quality deliverables.

As a Senior Consultant, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and healthcare experience, helping our healthcare clients solve complex clinical and business issues from strategy to execution.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Proactively assist in delivery and management of engagement activities led by Guidehouse Engagement Leadership
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, and partner with others to develop relationships across the engagement team
  • Lead one or more tasks or work streams within a client engagement, overseeing your individual contributions as well as the work of additional engagement staff
  • Support activities that lead to engaging interactions with clients such as creating agendas, meeting materials, risk logs, action tracking, and other adjacent activities
  • Support overall contract activities that provide clients with insights into our accomplishments in various formats at regular intervals
  • Guide client and internal subject matter expert conversations towards effective outcomes
  • Identify and mitigate projects risks around scope, schedule, and quality and effectively escalating risks to engagement leadership
  • Develop strategies to solve complex clinical, technical, and operational challenges for our healthcare clients
  • Actively support business development activities to help identify, research, and pursue opportunities for new / existing clients
  • Contribute to development of the team's industry acumen and capabilities through contribution to internal firm initiatives
  • Perform technical and process analyses; data collection; spreadsheet creation and management
  • Provide detailed research and analysis to identify and recommend enhancements to continuously improve client operations
  • Assess health industry trends to inform internal colleagues and external clients on leading practices and drive continued transformation efforts
  • Communicate solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, public policy, or related field
  • 3+ years of management consulting or planning experience in the healthcare industry
  • A thorough understanding of the healthcare industry with a passion for improving it
  • Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and prioritize resources and time effectively
  • Experience maintaining project timelines and contributing to project reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing reports and client/public-facing documents and communicating complex concepts effectively
  • Comfort with analysis in Microsoft Excel and ability to translate analysis findings
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and develop successful professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to create clear and compelling presentations for clients on complex topics
  • Ability to Obtain Public Trust (U.S. Citizenship Required)

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field (MHA, MBA, MPH, MPA, PhD, or similar)
  • PMP Certification or similar
  • Direct experience with data analytics
  • Experience with federal direct healthcare delivery systems, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Military Health System, Indian Health Service, or similar
  • Experience with strategic partnerships and operational partnering efforts among healthcare entities
  • Experience conducting market research to identify potential partners and assess viability of strategic partnerships and/or resource sharing between public and private and/or public and public healthcare entities
  • Experience conducting legislative and policy analysis and developing proposals for legislative relief
  • Federal and commercial healthcare consulting experience

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
