Summary

SRP is seeking a motivated College Intern to support our teams while gaining hands‑on experience in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment. This internship offers students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real‑world projects that support SRP’s commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable water and power services. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful work, and develop technical and professional skills relevant to their field of study. The role is designed to foster learning, teamwork, and innovation while providing exposure to SRP’s operations and culture. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are eager to learn, grow, and make an impact while exploring a future career with SRP.

This role supports the Sustainability Policy and Programs department by providing research and analysis on sustainability related topics, assisting with the coordination and execution of external and internal partnerships, and facilitating the collection of data related to SRP's public reporting.

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do

Work closely with the Sustainability Policy & Programs team to:

  • Complete and present topical research.
  • Support internal and external partnerships and engagement including communications and content creation, data collection and reporting, outreach, and technical assistance.
  • Assist the team with data collection and analysis related to SRP's 2035 Sustainability Goals and Carbon/Greenhouse Gas reporting.
Education
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
Additional Requirements and Qualifications
  • One-year internship with flexible work hours to accommodate academic schedules and vacations.
  • Sustainability degree program preferred. Pay rate depends on completed credit hours.
  • Applicant must have excellent research, organizational, analytical, and writing skills. Applicant must have a strong customer service ethic, willingness to work collaboratively, ability to work independently, a commitment to quality and attention to detail, and approach sustainability with curiosity and creativity.
  • Candidate must be currently enrolled and attending a minimum of 6 college credit hours per semester.

To promote the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve, SRP is committed to maintaining a drug/alcohol free work environment. Although marijuana may now be legal in Arizona, except as otherwise specified under Arizona law, SRP considers it to be an illegal drug for the purpose of our drug/alcohol policy because marijuana remains illegal at the federal level.
