Description
The Food & Beverage Internship at Eden Resort & Suites offers a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience designed for individuals pursuing a career in hospitality management. Interns will rotate through multiple outlets and service styles, gaining well-rounded exposure to restaurant operations, banquet execution, and high-volume service environments.
Responsibilities
Banquets (Flexible Hours)
Primary Focus: Event execution, prep, elevated dinner service, and coordination
Key Functions:
• Assist with event setup and breakdown (tables, linens, AV basics)
• Review BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) with supervisors
• Support food running and beverage service during events
• Learn timing/flow of plated vs. buffet service
• Communicate with kitchen and service staff during live events
• Observe or assist with client interaction when appropriate
• Participate in post-event reset and inventory checks
Arthur's (Breakfast Service | 6:30 AM - 12:00 PM)
Primary Focus: High-touch, early-day guest service
Key Functions:
• Greet and seat guests, assist with host stand if needed
• Support servers with coffee/juice service and table maintenance
• Learn breakfast menu and POS basics
• Practice steps of service (quick pacing, table turns)
• Observe guest interaction and upselling techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and reset tables quickly
Encore (Dinner Service | 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM)
Primary Focus: Fast casual dinner service & bar exposure
Key Functions:
• Assist with pre-shift setup (polishing, stocking, mise en place)
• Support servers with food running and table maintenance
• Observe pacing of coursed meals
• Gain exposure to bar operations (beer, wine, cocktails)
• Learn elevated service standards and guest engagement
• Participate in closing side work and breakdown
Bistro (All-Day Dining | 11:00 AM - 10/12:00 AM)
Primary Focus: Casual dining, volume, and versatility
Key Functions:
• Rotate between host, server assistant, and expo support
• Learn mid-day vs. late-night service flow differences
• Assist with takeout orders and POS familiarity
• Practice guest interaction across different dining styles
• Support bar area if applicable
• Help with opening/closing side work
Splashers (Poolside | 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM)
Primary Focus: Seasonal, high-volume, casual service
Key Functions:
• Assist with food running and guest service at poolside
• Learn quick-service efficiency and communication
• Maintain cleanliness of guest areas
• Understand beverage service in outdoor settings
• Monitor guest needs in a fast-paced environment
• Support stocking and restocking throughout shift
Qualifications
Education: High school education or equivalent experience. Currently or recently graduated from a Hospitality or related program
Experience: Preferred three - Six months in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
Skills and Abilities: Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer print outs, written instructions and to observe entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions. Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages. Able to read, speak and understand English. Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs. Stand continuously for long periods of time. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
