Job description

BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION 

The primary focus of the Data Analyst II is to manage the warranty accrual planning, reserve planning and warranty expense recovery efforts.  

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:  This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:

  • Manage the calculation of the warranty budget.
  • Develop forecasting models for warranty exposure.
  • Administer and maintain Vendor/Factory agreements
  • Drive and design new methods to increase warranty expense recovery
  • Administer non-recoverable warranty cost and prepare data for management approval
  • Reconcile all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule
  • Generate reports on claims and recovery status and regularly present to KUBOTA management
  • Assist front line claim processors with seasonal overflow claim processing as assigned by management
  • Structure facts and conceive arguments and present to suppliers gaining concurrence of responsible costs
  • Gather complete and timely internal supporting documentation for warranty payment justification
  • Establish partnerships both internally and externally and to influence without direct authority
  • Support warranty process development initiatives, including supplier recovery processes
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or related experience preferred:
    • In lieu of a degree at least 7 years of experience in a similar field required.
    • With a degree at least 5 years of experience in a similar field preferred.
    • MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
  • Detail oriented with high attention to detail
  • Familiar with equipment sales business and service structure orientation 
  • Basic familiarity with Continuous Improvement Processes
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, and to remain calm during stressful situations.
  • Data analysis experience, using SAP, and Salesforce
  • Expert level Microsoft Office ability, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Power Bi
  • Knowledge of Agricultural/Construction/Equipment Retail/Service business is a plus
  • Strategically-minded, well organized and disciplined with ability to multi-task
