About the Role
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will play a key role providing support for the installation and servicing of products in the field. The FSE is a self-driven individual who is experienced in electrical and mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting automated control systems. This role provides service and support for existing and future products.
Reporting Line
This position reports to the Manager, Field Service Engineering
Your Role
  • Customer Liaison: Serve as the primary customer-facing engineer. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in their assigned region, offering support for all machine types they have. Manage customer expectations and requests
  • Wide Knowledge Base:Maintain a broad knowledge of all machines the customer has in their region. This allows the field service engineer to troubleshoot, repair, and provide general maintenance.
  • On-Site Support: Provide on-site service for installations, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for all product families within their region. This ensures that even if a problem isn't within their deep knowledge area, they can still assist or escalate as needed.
  • First Line of Support: Act as the first point of contact for service requests, capturing the issue, diagnosing if possible, and escalating to subject matter experts when needed. Instruct and train customers on the operation and maintenance of their products.
  • Feedback Collection: Collect and communicate customer feedback to both the product engineers and management regarding recurring issues or requests for improvements in the machines.
  • Documentation and Reporting:Complete service reports, including detailed notes on repairs, performance, and issues. Ensure the customer is updated on service status and any required follow-up actions. Collect tool uptime/downtime data. Generate technical documentation.
  • Work in a cleanroom and follow all customer protocols

  • Integrated system assembly
  • Travel, including international travel (25% - 40%), often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Required)
  • Engineering Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (excel, powerpoint), Google products, or related software
  • Experience troubleshooting automated control systems, including data acquisition, robotics, IO, industrial communication, and machine vision
  • Strong assembly skills (electrical/mechanical)
  • Strong interpersonal and documentation skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and work effectively and collaboratively with highly technical peers
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing ultra-high vacuum systems
  • Experience working in a cleanroom and following all customer protocols
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, and advanced problem-solving orientation and decision-making skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills; the capability to manage workload among changing priorities
  • Understanding of networking principles and concepts
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment and have a troubleshooting mindset: an ability to systematically and effectively break down a system or process into subparts to identify failure mechanisms.
  • Eligibility to legally work in the United States, and to travel internationally for work

Position Details
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000-$130,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and EUV Tech's location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the respective role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the following factors: job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
