Our Global Business Group at Nova is looking for a Senior Field Service Engineer who is a self‑starter, customer‑focused, technically strong, and thrives in a fast‑paced semiconductor manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and hands‑on experience supporting semiconductor equipment inside high‑volume manufacturing fabs.

The Sr. Field Service Engineer will perform advanced engineering and technical activities while partnering closely with customers, internal engineering teams, and R&D to support and improve Nova systems in the field. This role requires a proactive problem solver who can independently drive customer satisfaction, mentor junior engineers, and effectively communicate technical findings through reports and presentations.

Pay Range: $56- $62 hourly (DOE)

Responsibilities
  • Implement Nova’s Customer Support Policy and provide onsite support for Nova systems at customer semiconductor fabs
  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, upgrades, installations, and recovery activities on semiconductor manufacturing equipment
  • Support new equipment installations, qualifications, software upgrades, and add‑ons
  • Analyze equipment logs, process data, and hardware‑related information to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of customer support activities, system status, inventory usage, and service actions
  • Collaborate with R&D, Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Support teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Provide customer training and retraining to ensure effective operation and maintenance of Nova systems
  • Mentor and train Field Service Engineers developing expertise in assigned toolsets
  • Maintain spare parts inventory according to Nova policies and operational requirements
  • Support sales and customer relationship activities as needed
  • Deliver professional customer‑facing communication and presentations demonstrating strong technical understanding and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Travel domestically to support customer sites and business needs
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related Engineering discipline is required
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of field service or semiconductor equipment experience
  • Must have hands‑on experience working inside semiconductor manufacturing fabs
  • Previous experience with metrology equipment, X‑ray systems, XPS, or SIMS is a plus
  • Knowledge of optics, robotics wafer handling systems, mechanical systems, and GUI software is preferred
  • Strong customer‑facing experience in high‑tech manufacturing environments
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 40%
