About the Role:
A To B Communications LLC is looking for a skilled Fiber Optic Cabling Technician to join our growing team in Berlin, CT. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in building and maintaining the high-speed communication infrastructure that businesses and communities depend on. Responsibilities:
  • Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables in commercial, industrial, and residential environments
  • Perform fiber optic testing using OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment
  • Pull, route, and dress fiber and low-voltage cabling through conduit, cable trays, and pathways
  • Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues to minimize downtime
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for cable installations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, test results, and project progress
  • Adhere to industry standards including TIA/EIA and OSHA safety regulations on all job sites
Requirements:
  • 1–2+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and termination
  • Proficiency with OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and fiber polishing techniques
  • Experience with single-mode and multimode fiber optic systems
  • Ability to read and follow technical diagrams, blueprints, and work orders
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying outdoor conditions
