Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Data Center Technician's to support structured cabling projects within data center environments. This individual will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and maintaining copper and fiber optic cabling infrastructure, while ensuring all work meets industry standards, customer specifications, and site safety requirements.

  • Install, pull, route, and secure copper and fiber optic telecommunications cabling throughout data center environments.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, cable schedules, rack elevations, and pathway layouts.
  • Install cable pathways including basket tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, conduit, innerduct, and other supporting infrastructure.
  • Terminate, dress, label, and test copper and fiber optic cables in accordance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Assist with installation of cabinets, racks, patch panels, cable management systems, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Perform cable routing while maintaining proper bend radius, separation requirements, and pathway fill ratios.
  • Ensure all cabling is neatly dressed and installed to meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Perform Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) for structured cabling systems.
  • Install and label equipment in accordance with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and customer-specific standards.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, ladders, and cable pulling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Conduct cable continuity testing and basic fiber testing using approved test equipment.
  • Identify and report installation deficiencies, damaged materials, and potential project issues to field leadership.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, cable labeling, and redline drawings.
  • Support commissioning activities by assisting with cable verification and troubleshooting.
  • Follow all customer, company, and site-specific safety requirements, including OSHA and project safety protocols.
  • Work effectively as part of a team while taking direction from Leads, Foremen, and Project Management.
  • Support multiple phases of structured cabling projects in active construction and live data center environments.
  • Adhere to quality control processes to ensure all installations meet project specifications and customer acceptance criteria.
  • Travel to project sites as required and work overtime, weekends, or shift work when project schedules demand.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
