Position Profile: Events & Venue Programming Seasonal Assistant
Department: Arrowhead Events  
Reports to: Manager, Special Events & Assistant Manager of Events
Status: Seasonal, Hourly

ABOUT ARROWHEAD EVENTS: Arrowhead Events is the event booking and production entity of the Kansas City Chiefs and GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Our team is responsible for transforming the stadium into a premier entertainment destination by hosting concerts, college football games, soccer matches, motor sports, and a variety of other large-scale events. We are seeking a Events & Venue Programing Seasonal Assistant to support our team during our busiest months. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in event planning, operations, and production at one of the most dynamic venues in the Midwest.

JOB SUMMARY: As the Events & Venue Programing Seasonal Assistant, you will work alongside the Arrowhead Events team to support the planning, coordination, and execution of events at the stadium. You’ll gain direct experience assisting with high-profile projects, major events and internal events while learning the inner workings of event production and venue operations.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Assist with the planning, logistics, and execution of all special events & internally produced event at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium
  • Provide support to the Director of Venue Programing, Manager of Special Events, Assistant Events Manager and Vice President of Arrowhead Events
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed meeting minutes, and track event deadlines
  • Creation of event production notes
  • Oversee and execute marketing efforts for all special events & internally programed events
  • Assist with the development of programming strategies to identify, create and attract revenue generating events.
  • Research best practices, trends, and innovative events tactics, and routinely present research findings.
  • Attend meetings and site tours, documenting key action items and decisions
  • Support load-in and load-out operations for event areas
  • Be lead planner and communicator for a variety of internal Chiefs events as assigned
  • Lead a book of corporate events within the Arrowhead Events division as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ Years of experience in event operations/planning (internships included)
  • Bachelors degree at an accredited university or college in the field of business, marketing, sports management, facility management, event production, event management etc.
  • Familiarity of event industry terminology, facility capabilities, operational procedures, event coordination and event-related services
  • Experience working in a stadium environment
  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to establish solid relationships with staff and clientele
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, word processing, spreadsheets, database, PowerPoint presentation and Outlook.
  • Must be available to work varied hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours in the summer heat.
