As a Substitute Fitness Instructor, you'll provide exceptional services within Independent and Assisted Living residents. This role will foster a positive, supportive environment for residents on a PRN basis, functioning similarly to a substitute fitness teacher as needed.

Salary:  $25 PER HOUR

The Fitness Specialist uses specialized educational experience and training combined with independent judgment to ensure quality in all areas of the Fitness Center, including but not limited to, exercise program design, fitness testing, nutritional advice, customer service, group exercise, and other Fitness Center and/or departmental initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in a health-related field, preferably from a four-year college/university. Internship or work experience with older adult clientele preferred. Six months to one year of experience in the field preferred. 
  • Ability to teach basic balance, chair exercise and muscle conditioning group fitness classes; where applicable; aquatic experience preferred. Ability to safely and accurately prescribe exercise for older adult clientele using ACSM guidelines Certifications. 
  • Current Personal Trainer certification from an accredited organization.  
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (or willing to receive upon job offer).
