T-Mobile is seeking a motivated and skilled Field Technician to support our Engineering & Operations team across Northern New York. This role covers the Northern New York State region, including Franklin and St. Lawrence counties, as well as communities such as Malone, Potsdam, Canton, and surrounding areas.
This position is ideal for a well-rounded technician who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys working independently, and is comfortable supporting a wide range of network sites. You will play a key role in maintaining network performance, resolving issues, and supporting ongoing improvements across the market.

Role Overview
The Field Technician serves as a technical contributor within and occasionally beyond their immediate team. This role supports both operational and project-based work, requiring a solid understanding of radio access networks (RAN), backhaul, signaling, disaster recovery, data services, and location-based services.
The position also requires foundational knowledge of network design, capacity planning, and power systems (AC/DC), along with the ability to apply that knowledge in real-world field scenarios.
Main Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot network performance issues, support outage resolution, and identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Project Support: Execute and support key projects, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and communication
  • Operations: Recommend process improvements and assist in developing documentation, job aids, and procedures
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving technologies, systems, and company standards

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant field experience. Candidates with strong technical or field experience are encouraged to apply-no degree required.
    • Acceptable areas of study include Vocational/Technical Training or related field (Preferred)
  • 2-4 years of experience in field operations, maintenance, or related technical roles
  • 2-4 years of experience in wireless telecommunications or a related field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and telecommunications systems (RF, fiber, microwave, Radio Access Networks (RAN), 5G New Radio (NR), Base Station technology, Wireless Backhaul, and/or power systems) (Required)
  • Experience with Ericsson and/or Nokia RAN equipment preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities - Project Management skills (Required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation
  • Ability to lift 50-70 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
