ERIE EVENTS - TRADE SHOW INTERNSHIP
POSITION: Event Management Internship
FACILITY: Bayfront Convention Center
REPORTS TO: Trade Show Manager
HOURY RANGE: Paid Opportunity
WHO WE ARE:
We are the hub of Erie's spectacular downtown entertainment and cultural district, operating four unique venues right in the heart of downtown. At Erie Events, we are committed to feeding the future by providing opportunities for students to learn and grow through our paid internship program.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We're looking for motivated and enthusiastic Trade Show Intern to join our team for Fall 2026. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in vendor sales, and event management at convention center trade shows.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Junior or Senior enrolled in a university studying Event Management, Business Development, or a related field
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexible schedule and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays

RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Assist with the planning, setup, and execution of trade shows and events
  • Tradeshows Include: ComicCon, RV, Auto, Holiday Show, Boat Show, Home Show, Spring Craft Show
  • Support the team with lead generation, outreach, and tracking communications
  • Coordinate logistics for vendor activations at events
  • Research potential vendors, and local businesses for partnership opportunities
  • Maintain and update contact lists, CRM entries, and sales documents
  • Assist with event-day operations including check-in, signage, and customer interaction
  • Help coordinate sales outreach efforts for events
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Tradeshow Manager.

SKILLS AND EXPERINCE:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program or graduated with at least a bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business, or a related field
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams
  • The ability to work pro-actively and independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, in addition to normal business hours as needed
