About the Role
The Information Security Analyst (Entry Level) role is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their cybersecurity career to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, enterprise environment. You'll work closely with experienced security professionals to help protect U.S. Venture's systems, applications, and data while developing foundational skills across multiple security domains.
This role is located on-site in Appleton, WI, where you'll have direct access to the Information Security team, mentors, and cross-functional partners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Learn and Do
As an entry-level analyst, you'll be supported while you:
  • Monitor security alerts and logs, helping identify potential threats or unusual activity
  • Assist with security incident response, investigation, and documentation
  • Support vulnerability management activities, including tracking findings and remediation progress
  • Help maintain and operate security tools and controls across endpoints, networks, and systems
  • Contribute to security documentation, procedures, and reporting
  • Partner with IT and business teams to promote secure practices
  • Participate in security awareness and learning initiatives
  • Continuously build your technical and professional skills with guidance from senior team members

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or near completion in May 2026) in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on experience
  • Basic understanding of information security concepts (e.g., networking, operating systems, authentication, common threats)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a team environment
  • Interest in learning enterprise security tools and frameworks

Nice to Have / Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship, lab, or academic experience in cybersecurity or IT
  • Familiarity with SIEM, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, or cloud concepts
  • Entry-level certifications (or working toward one), such as Security+, SSCP, or similar
