Job description

EAE USA Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Application Engineer to support the Application Engineering team with technical documentation, CAD and Revit validation, product standards, BOM support, drawing review, and project documentation activities. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who is eager to develop strong technical knowledge in electrical power distribution while learning how engineering solutions are applied to real customers and project requirements.

The Junior Application Engineer will work closely with Application Engineers, Program Managers, Project Managers, Technical Solutions Engineers, and internal Project engineering teams. The position provides a structured development path toward future Application Engineer responsibilities by building a foundation in documentation accuracy, product knowledge, drawing standards, engineering workflows, and customer support processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Documentation & Product Knowledge

  • Maintain and organize technical product documentation, including installation requirements, torque values, dimensional tolerances, voltage and current ratings, short-circuit ratings, product compatibility references, and application guidelines.
  • Support the creation and revision of technical manuals, application notes, best-practice documents, work instructions, SOPs, and internal reference guides.
  • Maintain the Application Engineering standards library, product knowledge base, document revision history, drawing checklists, BOM templates, and customer-specific standards.
  • Assist in collecting lessons learned from projects, field feedback, commissioning support, and customer requirements to improve future documentation and training materials.

2. CAD, Revit & Drawing Validation

  • Review CAD, Revit, PDF, and engineering drawing packages for formatting, dimensions, annotations, title blocks, naming conventions, completeness, and standards compliance.
  • Assist with first-pass QA/QC reviews before engineering documents are released internally or externally.
  • Support drawing revision tracking, folder organization, document naming, and drawing package readiness for submittals and customer deliverables.
  • Validate drawing packages against project requirements, customer standards, and internal engineering checklists under the guidance of senior team members.

3. Engineering Support & Project Assistance

  • Assist Application Engineers with BOM development, quantity takeoffs, product selection research, submittal package preparation, RFIs, and engineering documentation.
  • Support project documentation by maintaining trackers, folder structures, revision records, open-action lists, and engineering deliverable logs.
  • Participate in internal project reviews and coordination meetings to understand project scope, customer requirements, engineering changes, and schedule priorities.
  • Help prepare customer-facing technical information under review and approval from Application Engineers or management.

4. Standards, Quality & Process Improvement

  • Maintain engineering standards, templates, checklists, process maps, handoff documents, and quality review tools for the Application Engineering department.
  • Identify documentation gaps, drawing inconsistencies, missing project information, and improvement opportunities within engineering workflows.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to BOM accuracy, drawing review quality, documentation control, submittal consistency, and project handoff processes.
  • Assist with standardizing department documentation so project teams can execute work consistently and efficiently.

5. Training & Technical Development

  • Participate in structured training related to electrical power distribution, busway systems, switchgear fundamentals, product applications, installation practices, and industry standards.
  • Support new-hire onboarding by maintaining training materials, product reference documents, hands-on checklists, FAQs, and lessons-learned content.
  • Develop skills in technical communication, customer support, engineering coordination, and problem solving through exposure to active projects and team reviews.
  • Build competency with engineering software, documentation systems, ERP tools, CRM platforms, and project management tools used by EAE USA Inc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 0 to 2 years of engineering, technical support, drafting, design engineering, or related experience. Internship, co-op, or project experience in the electrical industry is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical power distribution systems. Familiarity with engineering drawings, CAD, Revit, Microsoft Excel, and technical documentation. Exposure to NEC, UL, IEEE, SAP, ERP, or engineering database tools is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, prioritization, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable supporting multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment while following standards, checklists, and review processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/design platforms.
  • Familiarity with data center, industrial, commercial, or mission-critical electrical projects.
  • Exposure to BOM creation, submittal preparation, technical documentation, or engineering document control.
  • Interest in power distribution, busway systems, electrical infrastructure, and product application engineering.
  • Experience working with Excel-based trackers, project folders, technical libraries, or engineering templates.
