In business since 1969, Interport modifies and sells new and used shipping containers, serving customers throughout the Northeastern U.S. Established in 2004, Interport Secure Parking operates 24/7/365 secure facilities in Newark, NJ and Savannah, GA where local and regional intermodal drayage truckers park and store loaded and empty import and export containers being transported for global cargo owners, ocean carriers, and third-party logistics providers. General Summary

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Sales Yard Equipment Operator is responsible for moving Interport sales units and other equipment throughout the Sales yard using 7-high/4-high container handlers, forklifts and yard hustlers. The Sales Yard Equipment Operator is also responsible for fueling equipment, inspect containers upon yard entry as required.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operates 7-high/4-high container handlers, forklifts and yard hustlers
  • Unloads inbound trucks and loads outbound trucks as needed
  • Feeds containers to the Modifications department as needed
  • Puts Sales and Modification units away in their proper locations
  • Assists the Container QC Associate in moving containers for inspection, etc. as needed
  • Keeps the Sales yard neat, organized, and safe at all times
  • Re-fuels all equipment
  • Acts as backup for various other tasks in the Sales yard including container inspection
  • Completes special projects as required including removal of weeds, trash and debris from yard, office clean-up and various other indoor/outdoor repairs
  • Uses an iPad or other electronic device to record information in the companyโ€™s software
  • Pre-trips equipment on a daily basis and record information in the companyโ€™s software
  • Remains cross-trained in other areas of the Sales yard
  • Assists with projects as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
  • Valid New Jersey driverโ€™s license in good standing with a clean driving history
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with iPad technology
  • Willingness to work overtime, including off-hours โ€œcall-insโ€, some holidays and weekends

Employment is subject to the completion of due-diligence inquiries, including a background check and a pre-employment medical examination including a drug and alcohol screen, which will take place after a conditional offer is made.
