WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS

The Production Manager leads and directs all manufacturing operations with overall responsibility for safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, and quality in the production areas as the first priority. The position leads the production efforts to maximize quantities at the lowest possible cost while creating a culture of continuous improvement, coordinating with Maintenance/Engineering, ESHQ and other operations related functions for the Röhm America Production Site in Osceola, AR, in the Methacrylates organization. Ensure that Company/Plant Safety/Health Practices and Environmental Regulations are rigidly adhered to while consistently producing high quality product within specified cost and scheduling guidelines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Ensure that the production work place is accident free through daily attention to safety practices, cleanliness, work conditions and training. Audit the workplace as frequently as is necessary to ensure safety and housekeeping processes are in compliance.
  • As a department manager, ensure compliance with the Roehm America Program as a minimum safety standard. Operate within plant safety rules and standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with all environmental regulations. Ensure that plant operations are conducted in such a fashion that environmental difficulties are few, including maintenance of acceptable work practices in all areas concerning handling of waste products whether it be hazardous liquid, acrylic dust, empty containers, etc.
  • Ensure that adequate systems and procedures are implemented and faithfully followed to maintain the plant's Quality Systems.
  • Attain production and efficiency objectives in process optimization, troubleshooting, training, production reporting etc., and secondly through effective utilization and management of the production work force. Utilize OEE as a primary tool to manage this effort.
  • Develop direct reports through establishment of challenging goals and assignments, providing performance feedback and periodic review of progress.
  • Effectively use productive management techniques to involve the production workforce in the operation of the production department.
  • Achieve cost reduction and/or product quality improvements through selection, initiation, prioritization, and implementation of capital projects to enhance process performance, productivity etc.
  • Maintain minimum inventories of off-grade product by controlling production levels and ensuring aggressive reuse without jeopardizing product quality.
  • Represent the plant as required to foster good community relations.
  • Act as a liaison with Roehm personnel for all matters concerning the production process to maintain consistency and to capitalize on improvements at other facilities
  • The employee must be completely conversant with applicable safety, loss prevention, and environmental standards of the Company, business group, and plant and ensure compliance.
  • The Operations Manager must have a detailed knowledge of the Forecast to Finished Goods process in the SAP system. A working knowledge of the QM, Maintenance (AE), Purchasing, SCM, and OTC is also necessary.
  • Use of SAP and Business Warehouse (BW) transactions to review and manage departmental and plant costs.
  • Accountable and responsible to insure all relative elements of the TPM (Total Productive Management) process, Focused Improvement, Autonomous Management, Planned Maintenance, and Training and Education Pillars are managed consistent with the TPM sustainability process outlined in 5-9539 as applicable to the respective departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
  • Bachelors or more advanced degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 7 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 or more years of manufacturing supervision/management
  • Excellent human relations skills
  • Good Oral and Written Communication skills
  • Must be capable of managing multiple priorities with the ability to work autonomously
  • Familiar with Process Safety, Environmental and Quality Programs
  • Good Organizational skills are required to help prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Computer skills and knowledge of SAP, MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.
