Position Overview

Veracity Electric is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team. In this role, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems under the guidance of experienced electricians, foremen, and project leaders. This position provides hands-on training and valuable field experience while supporting commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, committed to safety, and ready to develop the technical and professional skills necessary for a successful career in the electrical trade.

This is a traveling position. Employees should expect frequent travel to project locations and may be required to stay away from home during the workweek or for extended project durations. Travel schedules will vary based on project needs and business demands. Lodging, per diem, and other travel-related benefits will be provided in accordance with company policy.

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will:

  • Assist with the installation of electrical raceways, wiring, fixtures, equipment, and devices.
  • Pull wire, mount panels, and assist with electrical terminations.
  • Support journeymen electricians and foremen with daily project tasks.
  • Follow all work instructions, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and company-provided safety gear.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit using hand and power tools.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems and performing repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Participate in apprenticeship training, educational programs, and skill development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude on job sites and with customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid Apprentice Electrician License.
  • Enrollment in or completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned job sites.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous electrical construction or electrical service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and components.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • OSHA 10 Certification or willingness to obtain.

  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires:

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods.
  • Climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working at heights.
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to construction environments, including noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials and equipment up to 75 pounds.
  • Working in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Occasional travel to project sites.
  • Overtime, weekend, and night work as project schedules require.

Equipment and Tools Routinely Used

  • Hand tools including pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and cutters.
  • Power tools such as drills, saws, and conduit benders.
  • Electrical testing equipment including multimeters and voltage testers.
  • Measuring devices, levels, ladders, and material handling equipment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
