Job description

Reports To: Dir of Testing

This role requires a full-time onsite presence in Durham, NC

Target Base Salary:  $70 - 80k (based on experience)

Please note: We are only able to consider candidates who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders) and who do not require current or future visa sponsorship of any sort.

  • 1st time plug success (pre-release/prod)
  • Number of vehicles/platforms tested

Description

The EV Charging Interoperability Technician is focused on interoperability testing on IONNA's network and will be a critical member of the technology and quality team, ensuring that IONNA is delivering the best-in-class customer experience and industry-leading uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own a rolling master list of all EVs sold in North America
  • Source and acquire electric vehicles for testing through rental networks, OEM loan programs, and dealership partnerships
  • Maintain the current inventory of all EVs available for testing
  • Perform charge sessions on a wide variety of vehicles in the lab and in the field, executing structured test sessions
  • Document outcomes including 1st attempt success, plug success, charge success, connector behavior, and any anomalies
  • Track statistics on which vehicles have been charged on the IONNA network and provide findings back to the engineering and quality teams 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or similar with a minimum of 1 year experience testing complex technical products (Recent graduates with exceptional skills and attitude as well as internship experience will be considered for this role)
  • Experience testing Software and/or Hardware products, payment systems or integrated solutions
  • Exceptional communication and task management skills to effectively progress discussions with important stakeholders
  • Preferred: Technical understanding of the charging standards landscape (e.g. OCPP, ISO 15118, OCPI, PKI)
  • Preferred: Detailed understanding of the current public fast charging landscape
  • Preferred: Experience working in test labs

 Highly Desirable:

  • Experience with charging electric vehicles
