CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking several Electric Distribution Planner I's to join our Electric Distribution Team in Houston, TX; McAllen, TX; Texarkana, TX; and Longview, TX, where you’ll play a key role in supporting utility infrastructure projects across diverse field locations. This unique opportunity blends technical analysis with hands-on fieldwork, offering the chance to gather data using state-of-the-art equipment and contribute to the planning and design of electric distribution systems.


  • Travel regularly to client sites to assist in field surveys of electrical distribution networks using advanced tools and technology
  • Coordinate new service requests and third-party activities to support grid modernization
  • Interpret as-built documents and analyze electric distribution data using client GIS systems

  • Associate’s degree or combination of High School Diploma and relevant work experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • No experience required, but prior internships or applicable coursework in power distribution preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Experience with Distribution Design Studio (DDS) a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with ArcGIS preferred
  • Ability to learn new Work Management systems and technical tools such as AutoCAD and SAP quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions

  • Gain exposure to fieldwork and technical problem-solving in critical electric infrastructure

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
