THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE
This role is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of education content that supports Ulta Beauty's learning ecosystem. The position serves as the instructional design and LMS subject matter expert, translating business needs into engaging, scalable learning experiences across services and retail.
This role partners cross-functionally with key stakeholders, brand partners, and subject matter experts to create high-impact digital learning solutions, including eLearning modules, video-based education, and multimedia content. The Designer is accountable for end-to-end content development, from storyboarding and learning design through final build and LMS deployment within Elucidat.
This position focuses on content creation and learning experience design, ensuring accuracy, engagement, and scalability across platforms, while continuously evolving education through innovative design, storytelling, and technology.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
  • Leads the end-to-end development of digital learning content, including eLearning modules, microlearning, and multimedia training experiences.
  • Serves as the Elucidat and LMS design expert, building, managing, and optimizing content for scalability and learner engagement.
  • Translates complex concepts into visually compelling and interactive learning solutions, leveraging video, animation, graphics, and instructional design best practices.
  • Develops storyboards, learning frameworks, and structured content outlines that define objectives, audience, and desired outcomes.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Brand, Category, and Services teams to design and develop education content aligned to product launches, services, and business priorities.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to gather, validate, and refine content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business needs.
  • Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of training content, identifying gaps and opportunities to enhance learning experiences.
  • Establishes and maintains best practices and standards for digital learning design, ensuring consistency across all education materials.
  • Manages course development and publishing workflows within LMS platforms in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Supports the evolution of learning formats, incorporating new technologies, design approaches, and engagement strategies.
  • Maintains documentation and guidance for LMS content standards and design processes.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, storytelling ability, and creative problem-solving in content development.
  • Collaborates effectively across teams to deliver high-quality, learner-centric experiences.

THE ESSENTIALS OF SUCCESS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, or related field
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and digital learning tools (e.g., Elucidat, Articulate, Adobe, LMS platforms)
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and delegation skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide feedback with clarity and diplomacy

The pay range for this position is $66,200.00 - $98,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
