Government Affairs Special Projects Intern
GCSAA is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated intern who will be exposed to a national government affairs program with a focus on public policy and politics regarding labor/immigration, environmental and business issues relevant to the golf course management industry. The role develops analytical, writing, presentation, and teamwork skills while providing insight into local, state, and federal policymaking.
The Government Affairs team needs help working on several projects to advance the golf course management profession including conducting policy research, writing blogs and other communications for publication, supporting the Grassroots Ambassador and GCSAA Political Action Committee programs, conducting stakeholder outreach, and assisting with the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show and National Golf Day events. This position will help create/prepare case studies and award submissions; collect federal data to support lobbying efforts; and monitor/review weekly communications from national coalition partners and vendors.
Qualified candidates possess:
  • Strong writing, editing and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and juggle varied tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) essential
  • Familiarity using social media a plus
  • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week--schedule is flexible
  • Students with majors in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration or related field would benefit most from this experience
  • Seeking a 2026 Fall and 2027 Spring semester intern with possibility for extension through Summer 2027
  • Paid internship is $13.00/hour
