Job description

Are you looking for a seasonal position this Spring/Summer? If you enjoy working outside, you may be a great addition to our Golf Course Maintenance team. Make a difference with the City of Hutchinson!
The Seasonal Golf Maintenance Worker is responsible for assisting with mowing and maintenance of the golf course grounds. There are multiple work schedules and variations within this position.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • Performs mowing duties on fairways, greens, tee boxes, rough etc. Operates string trimmers, prunes trees and lays sod and rakes bunkers.
  • Waters greens and other areas by hand.
  • Removes trash and debris from golf course.
  • May perform course set up for daily play and tournaments.
  • May perform maintenance and cleaning in course buildings.
  • May perform painting duties.
  • Operates course equipment including riding mowers, push mowers, handheld equipment, utility vehicles, and other related equipment.
  • Communicate with golfing public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Direct all questions and concerns to supervisor.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED FOR SUCCESS:
  • EDUCATION: No high school diploma or GED required
  • LICENSE: A valid Kansas driver's license is required
  • OTHER: 4-8 hours a day, flexible. Potential of 5:30 a.m. start time.

Will work less than 1,000 hours per season. This is not a KPERS covered position.
